New Association Board
It is Official; we have a new
Confederate Crossing Home Owners Association Board. If you
joined us for our annual Home Owners meeting, you already met
our three new directors. They are:
Pat Brant—781-4775
Stephanie Harkins—783-6165
Tod Wood—378-0701
Tod Wood has been named as
President of the new Association Board. The first order of
business for the Directors was to select the rest of the board.
The Directors have met and looked at all nominations for all the
other board positions. The following people have been selected
and accepted their positions:
Ann Neilson, Vice
President—783-0191
Sharon Ridgway, Treasurer—693-2074
Chester Bach, Asst. Treasurer—693-4611
Susan Yates, Asst. Secretary—781-1769
Help us congratulate all of the
board members and thank them for wanting to be a part of the New
Board. During our meeting, Tod talked about setting up the
special committees for different areas. He has asked members of
the board to Chair each of the committees. The committees and
Chair persons are:
Ann—Special Events
Chester—Sign Beautification
Stephanie—ARB
Susan—Newsletter
If you are interested in serving on these committees, please
contact the Chair person to volunteer. For those of you who
signed up during our meeting, you should be contacted shortly.
December Activities
Decorations
Believe
it or not, there are less than 32 days left until Christmas.
That’s right Christmas! It’s time to decorate out entrance and
sign areas again. Come join the Events Committee for decorating
on Saturday December 3, at 9 A.M. at the Confederate
Crossing sign.
Luminaries
Continuing our Holiday tradition,
our Evening of Luminaries will be held on December 17th
this year.
We ask everyone to meet at 9 A.M. on Grayson Court at the JEA
easement to help assemble and pickup their luminary kits. The
luminary kits are paid for by your generous contributions, they
are not paid for out of our fees; with that in mind, a container
will be present for donations.
The lighting of the luminaries will be from 6 P.M.— 8 P.M. that
evening.
To help keep our subdivision beautiful, we are asking that
everyone pickup and discard the used luminaries as soon as
possible on Sunday morning.
Ponds
We
have carp! That is right, our fish (CARP) have been
delivered. On Tuesday, November 8th, we had 70 carp delivered.
We put 20 carp each in the two biggest ponds and 10 carp each in
the other 3 smaller ponds. If you are fishing and catch these
carp, please release it back into the ponds. The carps were put
into the ponds to help maintain the algae floating on top of our
ponds.
We received an email from a homeowner, we would like to share
part of that with you.
“We researched in my old
development the retention ponds usage and such. It was not
what we thought! Nobody should be taking any fish out at
all, especially to eat them! St. John’s management said the
fish are to help control the pond, not to be eaten due to
the chemicals that go into the ponds.”
We want to remind the homeowners
that whatever chemicals we put on our lawns and the grass
clippings on the streets automatically flows into the ponds.
This is very good advice. So please be advised.
REMINDERS
Please
drive slowly as we have children of all ages in our Community.
Beware there has been an unmarked
Police Officer in our area giving traffic/speeding tickets. We
hope that you are not one of the many that has gotten tickets!
Check out our website for the
latest on lawn care
and pool tips.
